Andria

Cities and the Sky

This project was inspired by the city Andria from the novel Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. There is a fascinating relationship between the city and the heavens. The inhabitants believe that when one changes there is a reflection in the other. Life in Andria is described as flowing “calmly like the motion of celestial bodies” but simultaneously it is “best to remain motionless at all times”. I worked in Maya using a script I wrote in Python. .
